So I've had a few people asking me what routine has worked best for me for gaining muscle and strength.
Before I start I will talk about some of my past routines.
When I first started going to the gym which was around 2 years ago I weighted 108lbs and had never lifted a weight in my life. I was very skinny but at the same time I grew up getting into a lot of fights so I wasn't too weak. I started on a 3 day routine which looked like.
Monday: Chest and Triceps
Wednesday: Back and Biceps
Friday: Legs and Shoulders
As a beginner I didn't know much about the exercises and diet but I knew I had to eat a lot more. I saw great gains (noob gains) but I started noticing problems while doing this routine. After doing a big workout on my chest I didn't have much energy to work my triceps which prevented me from lifting heavier weights. This resulted in lower strength and mass gains. This was the same for back and biceps. I would usually do a few sets on biceps and call it a day. This became a big problem for me because i noticed my chest and back grew the fastest for me, whereas my arms lagged behind.
I knew I had to change something about my routine and swapping the order I did my body parts was a no go. I decided to do a lot more research about training and looking up many different routines.
Stay tuned..
Cool, I'm always interested in seeing everyone's routine. Gives me ideas on how to improve on mine.

ReplyDeleteRoutine has to be one of the most important things when trying to build muscle, without a correct routine and time management these kinds of problems would arise.
